Trace Pattern

Objective

Use the trace function to change the selected line/shape or area into an internal line or shape.

 

Location

  • Main Menu → 2D Pattern → Trace (I)

  • 2D Pattern Window Toolbar → (Trace) Tool

 

Operation 

Trace as Pattern

  1. Find and click the menu indicated in Location.
      

  2. Click on the Baselines or segments that will be traced.

      

  3. Right-click on the selected Baselines or segments.

    → A pop-up menu will appear.

      

  4. Select Trace as Pattern from the pop-up menu.
    → The selected Baselines or segments will be traced as a Pattern.

Trace as an Internal Shapes 

  1. Find and click the menu indicated in Location.
        

  2. Click on the Baselines or segments that will be traced.

       

  3. Right-click on the selected Baselines or segments.

    → A pop-up menu will appear.
        

  4. Select Trace as an Internal Shape from the pop-up menu.
    → Should the selected Baselines or segments overlap, the overlapping points will connect and trace to create a new Internal Shape.

Trace as Internal Lines/Shapes

  1. Find and click the menu indicated in Location.
      

  2. Click on the Baselines or segments that will be traced.

        

  3. Right-click on the selected Baselines or segments.

    → A pop-up menu will appear
       

  4. Select Trace as Internal Lines/Shapes from the pop-up menu.
    → The selected Internal Line or Shape will be traced as-is.

 

Icon
  • Select a closed shape by double clicking it.
  • Select at least three lines that have been intersected to trace a shape formed by the intersected lines.
  • Drag the mouse and designate an area to select all the lines inside that area.
