Set Symmetric Pattern


Objective

Allow users design and edit symmetrically.

 

Location (MD6.5 or later)

  1. Pattern Pop-Up Menu → Clone Pattern with Linked Editing → Symmetric Pattern (with Sewing) / Symmetric Pattern 
  2. Pattern Pop-Up Menu → Apply Linked Editing → Symmetric Pattern (with Sewing) / Symmetric Pattern 
  3. Pattern Pop-Up Menu → Remove Linked Editing 
      

Operation (MD6.5 or later)

 

Clone Pattern with Linked Editing: Symmetric Pattern (with Sewing) / Symmetric Pattern

  1. Select the Pattern to be cloned with the Transform Pattern tool.

  2. Find and click the menu indicated in Location 1.

  3. The Symmetric Pattern will follow the mouse cursor.

  4. Click on the desired location to place the Symmetric Pattern.
    →  The Symmetric Pattern has been created.

    →  The outline of the Symmetric Pattern will appear in light blue. (v.2.5.0)

   

Apply Linked Editing: Symmetric Pattern (with Sewing) / Symmetric Pattern

  1. Select the Patterns that will have Symmetry applied with the Transform Pattern tool.

  2. Find and click the menu indicated in Location 2.
    → The selected Patterns will become symmetrically linked.

  

Remove Linked Editing

  1. Select the Patterns that will have Symmetry removed with the Transform Pattern tool.

  2. Find and click the menu indicated in Location 3.
    → Linked editing for the selected Patterns will be removed.

Location (MD6.5 Previous version)

  1. Popup Menu (Right click on Pattern/Pattern Window) → Symmetric Paste (v.2.1.0~2.4.58)
  2. Popup Menu (Right click on Pattern) → Clone as Symmetric Pattern (with Sewing) (v.2.5.0)
  3. Popup Menu (Right click on Pattern) → Symmetrization (v.2.5.0)

Operation (MD6.5 Previous version)

Symmetric Clone

  1. Select Edit Pattern Tool or Transform Pattern Tool.

  2. Right click on the pattern.
    1. At the version (v.2.1.0~2.4.58) copy the pattern, and right click on the 2D pattern window
        
  3. Find and click the menu indicated in Location 2.
    → The copied pattern will follow the cursor.
      
  4. Click on the preferred pattern location for Symmetric Paste.
    → Patterns with Symmetry applied will have light blue outlines around them. 

        

Symmetrization 

  1. Select Edit Pattern Tool or Transform Pattern Tool.

  2. Select both Patterns that will have Symmetric Editing applied.

  3. Find and click the menu indicated in Location 3.
    → Symmetric Editing is now applied to the selected Patterns.
